Retail Answers shortlisted for "Back Office Solution of the Year" at the Retail Systems Award 2007

Retail Answers are excited to have been shortlisted with Alliance Pharmacy for the “Back Office solution of the Year Award” at the Retail Systems Awards 2007. The nomination recognises the development of a Labour Scheduling System that calculates labour requirements for their 900 branches across the UK.

Alliance Pharmacy, part of the retail division of Alliance Boots, the largest healthcare provider in the UK, provides a dispensing service, health advice and pharmacist led support services to communities throughout the UK. It currently dispenses around 70 million prescriptions a year and employs approximately 10,000 employees.

Retail Answers and Alliance Pharmacy designed and developed the very sophisticated algorithms needed to calculate labour requirements. Significant attention was given to the user interface throughout the system’s design as presenting the labour demand in a way that was quick and easy to interpret was crucial. The Labour Scheduling System is now empowering ADMs to make evidence based decisions concerning labour allocation.
